Kanaka has three daughters, two of them (6 years and 4 years) are studying in the Gramya bridge school. She is from Lambada tribe. She and her husband are daily wage laborers. She was under pressure from her own family to give away her last daughter. She has struggled and fought with them to keep her last daughter along with her. Gramya provided food support for six months and counseled her husband.
